Anyone for tennis!
A huge step
for the island state in 1966 when Tasmania's wish to be part of the tennis
circuit was approved. At the time there was increasing hostility towards South Africa's participation in the international tennis circuit due to Apartheid and commercial pressures were building which eventually resulted in the
distinguishing between amateurs and professional players ceasing in 1968.
Note: this cartoon was done before Jeff started using the hook, but if you look in the stands you'll see him and three of his children looking on!
