Water! Now we're swimming in it...
In the face of declining water storages in March 2016, Premier Daniel Andrews commissioned the first use of Victoria's Desalination Plant.
The plant took 5 years to build but stand-by orders were given at the completion in 2012. The State's dams were at good capacity. The cost for Victorians is $600 million a year in this mode and an extra $27 million when the plant goes into use. Now having started using the plant, the rain seems to have returned with gusto. You wouldn't read about it!
